In the ancient traditions, working with meditation has several levels. In the beginning, we have no sense of where we are witnessing the world from. Slowly our inner sense develops, and we realise that our witnessing has a point of origin, a ‘seat’. Through thousands of years, the most stable spaces of this seat have been the heart, the breath or the spine.

Working with awareness really means working with all three spaces.

Awareness is a deep process of aligning the heart with the head, as a center of spiritual perception. This leads to experiencing our emotions and experiences with empathy, and without judgement – it also means deepening the heartfelt qualities of compassion and empathy with others.
Breath is the bridge between the body and the mind, a constant rhythm that anchors us in the present moment. Witnessing from the breath involves paying close attention to the rhythm and quality of our breathing and the way it connects us to the world around us.
The spine is a conduit for the energy that flows through us, nourishing each level of presence in the head, chest, belly and pelvis. The gentle inner movement of the spine also allows an ongoing becoming as our awareness matures and refines in the upward energy movement, and grounds and manifests in the downward movement.

Awareness practice from the heart, breath, and spine—invites us into a deeper relationship with ourselves and the world. It is a journey of self-discovery and connection, fostering a state of presence that enriches every aspect of our lives.

We will be working with:

awareness practices, relaxing into deeper states of wakefulness

breathing exercises

heart exercises

shifting our experience between heart, breath and spine
